| The Friends of Mount Vernon |
The Friends of Mount Vernon program includes donors from all fifty states who share a steadfast dedication to Mount Vernon's programs. Their generous donations help preserve the Mansion and outbuildings, keep the extensive gardens and grounds green and trim, and ensure that the historic interpretation and educational activities are authentic and accessible, both on the estate and across the country.
 |
| Neighborhood Friends |
The Neighborhood Friends of Mount Vernon program includes all neighbors who live on one of George Washington's original five farms (Virginia zip codes 22308, 22309, and 22121). These members take pride in being active participants in Mount Vernon's future by choosing and funding a sprecial restoration or education project each year. For their 2005-2007 project, the Neighborhood Friends have chosen to fund the restoration of the Blacksmith Shop.
