Leave a Legacy of American History for Future Generations
Your planned bequest, beneficiary designation of an asset, charitable gift annuity or other planned gift benefiting Mount Vernon entitles you to become part of our Ann Pamela Cunningham Society. Miss Cunningham founded the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association of the Union in 1853 and tirelessly gathered support from across America to rescue George Washington's home, sparking the U.S. historic preservation movement.
Our hope is that you will let us know about your bequest or other planned gift so that you can become part of the Society—and so we can thank and recognize you. You can use our PDF form at the bottom of this page to let us know. Or you simply can contact us by phone or email; our contact information is below.
You will receive these privileges of membership in our legacy group:
- Personalized certificate of appreciation
- Complimentary subscription to Mount Vernon’s Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow newsletter
- Mount Vernon’s annual report
- Updates on Mount Vernon news
- Invitations to events and special evenings
- Recognition of your planned gift in Mount Vernon publications (unless you prefer to remain anonymous)
Since its inception, the Mount Vernon’s Ladies’ Association—protector of Washington’s legacy for more than 150 years, pioneer in historic preservation, and steward of the estate and gardens—has neither requested nor accepted government funding. We depend on the special gifts of patriotic Americans for our programs and endowment.
Your legacy will support Mount Vernon’s timeless mission that is important to every American.
